This past Sunday a host of former choral scholars descended upon St John's to celebrate the Director of Music's birthday. Along with many blasts from the past, five our regular musicians were also with us to help celebrate's Robert's significant birthday. The music for the day was organised by Nick Miller, our organist, as a special surprise, including a recessional anthem of Parry's I Was Glad.

After the service there was a Champagne and smoked salmon reception during which former choral scholars were able to mingle with the congregation, letting us all know how they have been doing since their time at St John's. A children's choir was quickly assembled to sing Happy Birthday to Robert.
