The team at St John's is here to support you and your family through bereavement and to help you with funerals and memorials. There are many possibilities for making a personalised service, so please don't hesitate to contact St John's.
PLANNING a loved one's FUNERAL
When a close friend or a member of the family has died there can be a lot to think about. The team at St John's is here to make the planning of a funeral as easy as possible. The clergy will help to devise a personalised funeral and/or memorial service as well as offering pastoral support. The administrative team will be able to support the practical coordination of any services alongside the funeral directors. The Director of Music is here to help provide a personal touch to the service.
Planning your own Funeral
It is never too early to make plans for the end of your life. It's not an easy conversation to have with a friend or relative, whether you're trying to express your wishes or ascertain their's, but it can bring peace of mind to you and those whom you love. One of the clergy can talk through possibilities for your funeral, from the music to the flowers as well as any reception you might want in Church. We will also talk through any pastoral concerns, including care in the last days and the immediate implications of death and bereavement.
Each year St John's marks a service for the feast of All Souls.
During this Eucharistic service we remember by name all those whose funerals we have been involved with over the last few years among others. Those present are invited to light a candle on the altar in memory of their loved ones. If you have somebody you wish to be named during the service contact the office in October.
