Choral Scholarships 2026-27

Applications are now open. The deadline for receipt of applications is 9am on Thursday 12th March 2026, but early application is encouraged as there is a limited number of audition spaces.

Audition Date: Saturday 21st March 2026, at St John’s Hyde Park.

Audition Requirements: one solo from Handel’s Messiah, plus your choice of a contrasting work, preferably either opera or musical theatre. There will also be some sight-reading tests.

Applications are annually sought for 8 choral scholars (SSAATTBB). The scholarship scheme is supported by the William Gibbs Religious & Educational Trust and offers payment of £240 per week, plus additional service fees during the year as they arise. To qualify for this, candidates must be in full-time education during their tenure and be able to live in the parish or an adjoining parish. Maps can be supplied.

The scholarship year will run from September 2026 to July 2027.
