Memorial services

A memorial is a service in memory of someone who has died, usually after the funeral. It is an opportunity outside the immediacy of grief when family and friends can plan to come together and celebrate a person’s life and mark their achievements.

At St John's, we work with every family to make this a unique and special experience, using different elements that can make up the service such as music, tributes, readings and poetry. Our choir of post-graduate choral scholars perform a wide variety of music and genres, and we have access to excellent instrumentalists.

After the service, the church can be used for a reception which might take the form of a traditional wake with drinks, or could be something more unique such as a roast lam BBQ.

Come to a Sunday service and make yourself known to the clergy, or ring the office to organise a memorial.
