Throughout the ages Church music has reflected and incorporated popular music of the age. During Lent St John’s explored how popular music (and culture) through the 20th Century responded to the political, social and spiritual needs of the world, when the church was failing, at times, to react quickly enough to changes in society. From 29 May to 31 July the choir will begin a series of anthems drawn from popular culture, but with obvious religious overtones. Visit the music page to see what's coming up.
