God loves us and wants us to be happy. That’s easily
forgotten in the stress and strain of our daily lives. London’s
a great place to be making a living, but you have to work hard and play hard to
get the most out of the city. At St John’s
we think you can do all that and still have room for God in your life.
We welcome young, professional people to St
John’s—whether you’ve just moved to London
or whether you’ve been here for years. Some of us have ‘churchy’ backgrounds. But
we want something that can celebrate the world we live in, understand the reality
of our lives, and still see Christ as powerful and active in our own and our
friend’s lives—even if they don’t come to church with us!
Some of us have been put off Christianity before by
so-called ‘bible-bashers’ and people telling us how naughty God thinks we are.
Which is a shame, because the good news is that God does love us, and when we
find him he will transform our lives, taking what is good and making it
wonderfully better.
Jesus liked nothing better than good food, good drink and
good conversation with his friends. That’s what we like too. We meet regularly
for film evenings followed by dinner. We go to our excellent local pub, The
Victoria, a lot too. We’re always happy for new people to come and join in—for as
much or as little as you like.
The down-side is getting up on Sunday mornings. The up-side?
Well, come and find out… |
