So often we attend a church regularly but do not get to know other members of the congregation as well as we'd like. Culture Vulture Ventures brings together the current cultural scene with a friendly fun atmosphere (meal, drink, afternoon tea!) so that we can enjoy a sociable and cultural feast together!
Keep an eye on this page for details of Forthcoming Ventures!
'Oh I do like to be beside the seaside...'
Culture Vultures Summer Outing, co-organised by Margaret and Romny Gray.

Weather permitting we are off to sample the invigorating air of the south coast on Tuesday September 7th. We depart from St Pancras at 10.42am for the 1 hour 20 minute journey.
The energetic Venturers among us can alight at Margate and enjoy the 4 mile Turner and Dickens Walk to Broadstairs, ably led by Romny. Turner was a frequent visitor to the town and over 100 of his drawings and paintings can be traced to the time he spent in Margate. He was inspired by the unique quality of the light.
Everyone else will alight with Margaret at Broadstairs to explore, among other delights, The Dickens House Museum, (Dickens based the character of Betsy Trotwood on the owner of the house at the time), the Crampton Tower Museum (he was a railway engineer), the renowned icecream parlours originating from Italian settlers in the 19th century and perhaps even dip a toe in the briny!
We will all meet up at the Royal Albion Hotel on the sea front for tea before catching the 5.00pm train back, arriving at St Pancras at 6.21pm.
Let Margaret or Romny know if you would like to come (first three to do so can take advantage of Romny's Network Card and pay £20.80 for the day return ticket (Full price around £30). |
